Treatment details: Silicone Implant Breast Augmentation (Preserve, DEMI 210 cc)
Implant selection was based on chest measurements rather than on a requested cup size. A DEMI profile at 210cc matched the base width available, which keeps the upper slope gradual instead of creating a rounded edge that would be visible in clothing. The pocket was made to fit the implant closely so that position stays stable over time. The photograph is two months after surgery. At this stage the implants have begun to settle into a natural position and the initial upper fullness has softened. Softening continues for several more months, and we ask patients not to judge the final shape before six months.
Chest tightness, swelling, bruising, and pain on arm movement are usual in the first one to two weeks. Bleeding or hematoma can require a return to the operating room, and infection occasionally forces removal of the implant. Sensation of the nipple or skin may change, sometimes lasting. Asymmetry, capsular contracture, rippling at the edge of the implant, malposition, and rupture may call for further surgery. Scars mature over months but stay visible. Breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma is extremely rare. Radiology staff must be told about the implants.
