What is HydraFacial?
HydraFacial is a skin treatment that thoroughly cleanses and removes old dead skin cells from the surface and deep cleansing facial pores using a vortex water flow containing beauty ingredients. It simultaneously performs microdermabrasion (physical exfoliation) × chemical peeling (chemical dissolution) × beauty ingredient infusion, making it a treatment where you can easily experience tone-up and improved firmness and glow immediately after the procedure.
Using a mild peeling solution containing glycolic acid and salicylic acid with water flow to perform peeling results in less burden on the skin compared to conventional peeling. Dryness, redness, and peeling that commonly occur with chemical peels are less likely to happen, and you will likely experience minimal stinging pain. Since the treatment causes minimal pain, there is almost no downtime. The final step includes infusing moisturizing facial lotion and beauty serums, making it effective not only for addressing open pores and blackheads but also for various skin concerns such as acne, acne scars, pigmentation, dullness, and dryness. -
Features of the HydraFacial Device
HydraFacial is a peeling device developed by Edge System in the United States. The patented hydrafacial tip is designed with a structure that prevents friction on the skin, removing dirt and sebum from the skin with a vortex water flow and infusing beauty serums into the skin. It achieves deep cleansing facial × pore cleansing treatment × hydration facial simultaneously, which cannot be done with home care. The device has received approval from the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) and CE Mark (EU member states standards) and is used in countries worldwide.

HydraFacial Treatment Steps
HydraFacial performs exfoliation care in four steps: cleansing, peeling, pore suction, and infusion.
STEP 1.
Cleansing + Skin Softening Softens the skin to lift dirt and cleanses with a specialized solution containing beauty ingredients to deep clean your face and pores.
STEP 2.
Peeling Applies a mild peeling solution to take off dead skin cells and stubborn sebum that could not be removed in the first step.
STEP 3.
Pore Cleansing + Hydration Removes impurities such as sebum and keratin plugs through suction while simultaneously infusing hydrating facial moisturizer for dry skin to soothe the skin.
STEP 4.
Beauty Serum Infusion + Protection Infuses beauty serum containing antioxidant components, hyaluronic acid, peptides, etc., onto the skin surface.
The HydraFacial treatment takes about 30 minutes.

Downtime after HydraFacial
After treatment, redness and stinging may occur but will disappear within a few hours. The skin may become dry after treatment, so please moisturize thoroughly. You may temporarily feel like acne has increased, but this is part of the process of eliminating stored impurities, so there's no need to worry.

Treatment
Gel is applied to the treatment area, and the HydraFacial treatment is performed. First, the skin is softened with the specialized agent "Activ-4™," and deep cleansing is performed with an exfoliation tip. Afterward, a peeling solution containing glycolic acid (7.5%) and salicylic acid peel (2%) called "GlySal™Prep" is applied to the skin to remove remaining old dead skin cells, and the peeling solution is removed with a suction tip.
The agent "Beta-HD" containing salicylic acid softens the inside of pores while simultaneously infusing Hydration face components. Finally, beauty serum containing low-molecular hyaluronic acid and multiple amino acids is infused into the skin.Gel is applied to the treatment area, and the HydraFacial treatment is performed. FAQ
- Q How soon can I experience results after HydraFacial treatment?
-
A
You can expect improvements in skin quality and tone-up effects even with just one session, but you'll likely notice more significant results after continuing the treatment for about 5-10 sessions at a frequency of once every 2 weeks to once a month. The appropriate interval and number of sessions may vary depending on your skin concerns and condition, so please consult with us during your consultation.
- Q Is the HydraFacial treatment painful?
-
A
HydraFacial performs peeling using water flow, making it a treatment where pain is less noticeable. You might feel a tingling sensation from the peeling ingredients in the peeling solution, but generally, there is no strong pain.
- Q When can I apply makeup after HydraFacial treatment?
-
A
You can apply makeup on the same day.
- Q How much swelling, redness, or pain is there after treatment?
-
A
For several days after treatment, you may experience redness, dryness, or a temporary increase in acne due to the removal of old dead skin cells.
- Q When can I take a bath or shower after HydraFacial?
-
A
You can do so on the same day.
- Q When can I have alcohol or smoke after HydraFacial?
-
A
You can do so from the next day. Please avoid alcohol and smoking on the day of treatment.
- Q Can I receive treatment if I have a sunburn?
-
A
If you have a strong inflammatory reaction immediately after sunburn, we may refuse treatment, but if the redness has subsided, the treatment is possible. After treatment, we ask that you avoid UV exposure and use sunscreen.
- Q How many HydraFacial treatments are recommended?
-
A
We recommend receiving 5-10 treatments at a frequency of once every 2 weeks to once a month.
- Q Are there any precautions before and after HydraFacial treatment?
-
A
If you have recently received hair removal, laser treatment, peeling, or other treatments in the same area, you may not be able to receive HydraFacial treatment. If you are using cosmetics containing vitamin A, such as retinol, you should check with a doctor. After HydraFacial, you need to be careful about UV exposure. Make sure to regularly apply sunscreen and take UV protection measures. Also, as the skin may become temporarily dry, make sure to moisturize sufficiently during skincare.
- Q Can I receive HydraFacial treatment just for my nose?
-
A
At Bianca Clinic, we also offer treatment for the nose and cheeks. If you are concerned about strawberry nose or nose pores, you may see results even with treatment for the nose and cheeks.
- Q Are there any disadvantages to HydraFacial?
-
A
One disadvantage of HydraFacial is that the treated area may become dry after treatment. The skin may also become more susceptible to sun damage, and there is a risk of pigmentation from strong sunburn, so please ensure thorough UV protection. However, this is temporary, and the skin's resistance and moisture retention will improve over time.
- Q Is it true that HydraFacial widens pores?
-
A
HydraFacial does not widen pores. Some people may feel that their pores have temporarily widened when clogs and dirt are removed. HydraFacial is not expected to improve open pores, so it may be judged as "meaningless," but if sebum in the pores is not removed, it may push the pores wider, so removing pore dirt with HydraFacial helps prevent pore widening. If you want to improve open pores, you can combine it with other treatments that have a tightening effect, so please consult with us during your consultation.
- Q What is the difference between HydraFacial and HydraGentle?
-
A
"Hydra" is used in the names of devices that use water flow to cleanse the skin's dead cells and plugs. HydraFacial is a device manufactured in the United States, while HydraGentle is a device manufactured by Eunsung in Korea. Neither is a medical device, and both can be introduced as aesthetic equipment. Another difference is that HydraFacial has received FDA approval in the United States, while HydraGentle has not.
- Q What is the difference between HydraFacial for esthetic salons and medical institutions?
-
A
HydraFacial may be offered as a menu item at esthetic salons, but there is a difference in the concentration of solutions used. Solutions used in medical clinics have higher concentrations and must be handled by medical professionals. Another difference is that medical professionals can medically address any issues that occur after the treatment.
