Downtime
A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort, though sensation varies by individual. Most patients are able to resume normal daily activities shortly after the treatment. Please refrain from activities that promote blood circulation, such as strenuous exercise or heavy drinking, for about a week after the JUVELOOK® treatment. A 3-session package at monthly intervals is recommended, followed by maintenance once every 6 months to 1 year.
Recommended for
- Enlarged pores or uneven skin texture
- Fine lines and skin laxity
- Dullness or loss of radiance
- Dark circles or a hollow appearance in the under-eye area
- Fine lines and skin texture concerns around the mouth, cheeks, or forehead
- A non-surgical approach to skin renewal with minimal downtime
- Progressive collagen stimulation rather than immediate volume addition
- Maintenance or preventative treatment to support long-term skin quality
CHARACTERISTICS
Unlike conventional dermal fillers, which work by physically filling tissue with injected material, JUVELOOK® works by stimulating your skin's own biological renewal process. Because PDLLA is not derived from animal sources, the risk of allergic reaction is low. JUVELOOK® has received regulatory approval from both the U.S. FDA and South Korea's MFDS (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety).
For patients concerned about volume loss in areas such as the nasolabial folds or deeper facial contours, a separate formulation — JUVELOOK® Volume (Lenisna) — is available. Unlike JUVELOOK®, which works as a biostimulatory skin booster to improve overall skin quality, JUVELOOK® Volume is designed for deeper tissue planes where volumising support is the primary goal. At BIANCA CLINIC, the most appropriate product is determined individually for each patients through a physician-led consultation.
Because PDLLA is not derived from animal sources, allergic reactions are uncommon. Combined with its established safety record and approval from the U.S. FDA and Korea's MFDS, JUVELOOK® is considered a well-tolerated treatment option for a wide range of patients.
Benefits
Physician Precision — Not Device Uniformity
Multiple Concerns, One Session
Minimal Allergy Risk with an Established Safety Profile
KEY FEATURES
JUVELOOK® is also recognized for sustaining its effects over a longer duration compared to some other skin boosters. For patients who prefer a structured approach, BIANCA CLINIC offers a 3-session package as part of our standard treatment menu.
By combining Hydro with JUVELOOK®, our approach targets both immediate hydration and longer-term structural renewal in a single injection session. This formulation is specific to BIANCA CLINIC and reflects how our physicians tailor each treatment to the individual.
JUVELOOK® contains PDLLA and non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. It works by stimulating your skin's own collagen production — results are gradual, building over weeks and months, and the improvement comes from within. It carries a low risk of side effects and allergic reactions, and its effects may last approximately 1–2 years.
Hyaluronic acid fillers (such as Juvederm or Restylane) are cross-linked gels that physically fill and volumise targeted areas. Results are visible immediately after injection. They are highly effective for restoring volume, softening deep folds, or reshaping facial contours — but the product remains in the tissue until it degrades or is dissolved.
Neither is universally superior. The right choice depends on your skin condition, goals, and the specific concern you want to address. Your physician at BIANCA CLINIC will help you determine which approach — or combination — is most appropriate for you.

Q&A
Is the JUVELOOK® used at BIANCA CLINIC the same as what is available in my home country?
JUVELOOK® is manufactured in South Korea and distributed internationally. The product used at BIANCA CLINIC is sourced through established import channels under the supervising physician’s responsibility, in accordance with Japanese regulations for individually imported pharmaceuticals.
The formulation itself — poly-D-L-lactic acid (PDLLA) combined with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid — is consistent with the internationally distributed product. Please note that JUVELOOK® is not currently approved as a pharmaceutical in Japan and is used as an individually imported treatment; full details are provided in the Treatment Details section below.
Can I book an appointment at short notice, or while I am already in Tokyo?
We do our best to accommodate patients with limited time in Tokyo. Same-day or short-notice appointments may be available depending on the schedule. We recommend contacting us as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time. Online booking is available through our website.
I can only visit Tokyo once — is a single session of JUVELOOK® still worthwhile?
Yes. While a 3-session package is recommended for optimal and sustained results, a single session can still provide meaningful benefit — particularly in terms of skin hydration and the initial stimulation of collagen production.
Many international patients begin with one session during a visit to Tokyo and plan subsequent sessions around future trips. Your physician will discuss realistic expectations for a single session at the consultation.
What should I be aware of regarding downtime after JUVELOOK® treatment?
Downtime is generally minimal. Temporary redness, mild swelling, bruising, or small wheals at treatment sites may occur but are expected to resolve within a few hours to approximately 2 days.
Most patients are able to return to normal daily activities shortly after their appointment — including sightseeing or light activity on the same day. Individual recovery varies, and your physician will provide specific aftercare guidance.
Are there any activities I should avoid before or after treatment — especially as a tourist?
Before treatment, avoid alcohol, significant sun exposure, and skin treatments such as laser or chemical peels for at least one week. For one week after the treatment, please refrain from taking hot baths, using saunas, engaging in strenuous exercise, and drinking alcohol. Light activity, sightseeing, and dining are generally fine on the same day.
Makeup should be avoided immediately after treatment — your physician will advise on timing. Sun protection is important in the days following treatment.
Are the ingredients in JUVELOOK® safe?
JUVELOOK® contains poly-D-L-lactic acid (PDLLA) and non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. PDLLA is a biocompatible material that degrades naturally in the body and is not derived from animal sources, making allergic reactions uncommon. The product has received regulatory approval from the U.S. FDA and South Korea’s MFDS. As with all injectable treatments, individual suitability should always be confirmed through a physician-led consultation.
Is JUVELOOK® available outside of Japan? Why come to Tokyo for treatment?
JUVELOOK® is available in a number of countries. Patients choose to receive treatment at BIANCA CLINIC in Tokyo for several reasons: physician hand injection with individual precision, the ability to combine JUVELOOK® with BIANCA’s signature Hydro blend, and the clinical experience of our team across a high volume of cases. For international patients already visiting Japan, treatment at BIANCA CLINIC can be planned as part of your itinerary with minimal disruption to your schedule.
I live outside Japan. How do I continue treatment after returning home?
JUVELOOK® is available in a number of countries, so follow-up sessions may be possible closer to home. At BIANCA CLINIC, we can provide a treatment summary to share with a physician in your home country if needed. We also offer online consultations for patients who want to stay in contact after returning home. Session intervals are typically monthly for an initial course, so depending on your travel plans, it may be possible to schedule multiple sessions across visits to Japan.
