Treatment details: Silicone Implant Breast Augmentation (Preserve, DEMI 195 cc)
At 195cc with a DEMI profile, the implant was sized to the patient’s frame rather than to a target volume. A narrower base with moderate projection keeps the result proportionate on a slim chest and reduces the chance of a visible implant edge. The image is three months after surgery. By this point the tissue has relaxed around the implant, the upper pole fullness that is normal in early recovery has settled, and the breast moves more naturally. Scars at this stage are still firm and pink; they flatten and fade over the following six to twelve months. Follow up continues through the first year.
Discomfort on lifting the arms, swelling, and bruising of the breasts settle over roughly two weeks, and heavy exercise is restricted for longer. Recognized risks include hematoma needing reoperation, infection that may require the implant to be taken out, altered nipple or skin sensation, uneven position or shape, visible rippling in thin tissue, capsular contracture that firms the breast, and rupture. Implants are not lifetime devices. Scars fade slowly without disappearing. Reports of breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma exist but are extremely rare.
