Lip work here was about definition rather than volume. Teosyal RHA 2 has enough flexibility to move with expression, which matters in the lip more than at any other injection site, so a firmer product was deliberately avoided. Placement followed the vermilion border and the body of the lip in small amounts to keep the shape the patient already had. The photograph is immediately after injection, when swelling makes the lip look fuller than the final result. Most of that settles within forty eight hours, and the shape can be assessed reliably at two weeks. Ice and avoiding heat on the first day reduce bruising.

Lips swell substantially for the first forty eight hours, sometimes with visible bruising that lasts about a week, and eating or speaking may feel awkward at first. People with a history of cold sores can have an outbreak, so preventive medication is discussed beforehand. Small firm areas or slight differences between the two halves may be felt while the gel settles and can be corrected later. Vascular events are rare. The volume declines over six to twelve months.
