Treatment details: FaceTite (Submental), Liposuction (Submental), Morpheus8 (Submental)

Under the chin, fat and skin laxity usually travel together, and removing the fat alone can leave the skin sitting loose. Three modalities were combined in one session for that reason: liposuction to take the volume, FaceTite to deliver radiofrequency beneath the skin so the deeper layer contracts, and Morpheus8 to remodel the surface from above. Each works at a different depth. The image is from immediately after the procedure, when swelling and the compression garment still influence how the jawline reads. Tightening from the radiofrequency component develops over roughly three months as collagen remodels, so the contour seen at this stage is not the endpoint.

Risks & Side Effects

A radiofrequency probe is passed under the skin of the neck through small entry points, which swell and bruise for one to two weeks. Numbness beneath the chin is expected and can take two to three months to resolve, and the tissue feels firm or lumpy while it settles. Small scars remain at the entry sites. Surface burns are rare with careful temperature control. Tightening may be less than hoped or slightly uneven, and the final change is judged at around three months.

Removing fat below the chin leaves swelling that peaks around the third day and a bruise that can track down the neck. The compression band must be worn for the period advised or the skin may settle irregularly. Patchy numbness and hard bands under the jaw are common for some weeks and respond to massage. Skin that has lost elasticity can hang slightly after fat is removed. Seroma, infection and, very rarely, clot or fat embolism are the uncommon risks.

The needling pattern is visible as small red dots under the chin for two to four days, with swelling, warmth and light crusting that flakes away during the first week. Makeup is avoided until the punctures close. Pigment change after the inflammation is possible and sun protection is advised. Rarely a needle track leaves a small burn or mark. Skin firmness alters over two to three months, several sessions are usually planned, and the degree of change varies.
