Treatment details: Double Eyelid Suture Method (Natural Adhesion Method)
The natural adhesion technique creates the fold by encouraging the tissues to bind rather than by tying the eyelid down tightly with sutures. The line that results moves more naturally when the eye opens and closes. At one month the swelling has fully resolved and the fold has settled into its final width, which is narrower than it appears in the first days. Because the technique relies on adhesion rather than tension, the fold is less likely to develop the deep set appearance that follows a tightly tied suture, and the lid keeps its normal thickness when closed.
For the first week the eyelids are swollen and the crease looks deeper than intended. Most swelling passes within seven to ten days and the line matures over one to three months. Bruising, a foreign body sensation, dryness, and mild difficulty closing the eye can occur early. The crease may fade or come undone months to years later, requiring the sutures to be repeated. Asymmetry, palpable knots, and, rarely, infection or granuloma are possible.
