Treatment details: Baby Collagen (Under Eyes)
The lower eyelid holds the thinnest skin on the body, which is why product choice matters more here than almost anywhere else. Baby Collagen was used because its consistency allows it to sit close to the surface without showing through as a shadow or a bluish tint. Injection was carried out with a blunt cannula rather than a needle to reduce the risk of bruising in tissue with a dense vascular supply. This photograph is immediately after treatment. The definitive appearance is assessed at the two week review, once injection fluid has cleared and the material has integrated with surrounding tissue.
Bruising is the usual finding after injection below the eye and may take up to two weeks to fade fully; concealer can be used once the punctures close. Swelling in the morning, mild tenderness and small firm points are common in the first days. Superficial placement in this thin skin can leave a whitish or bluish Tyndall type tinge until the material settles. Collagen is not reversible with hyaluronidase. The result softens over three to six months and sessions are usually repeated.
