Treatment details: AdvaTx Laser (Scar)
AdvaTx targets the vascular component of a scar, which is what makes a healing scar look red and raised. Treating the redness early influences how the scar matures rather than only changing its appearance on the day. This photograph is after a single session; scars of this type usually need a course spaced several weeks apart. The 589 nm wavelength is absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin in the vessels feeding the scar without damaging the surrounding skin, which is why there is no downtime and sessions can be repeated at short intervals.
Redness, warmth, and mild swelling of the treated scar last from a few hours to two days, and a temporary darker or grayish tone may appear before fading. Small blisters, crusting, or transient purple marks occur occasionally. Skin that is darker or recently tanned carries a higher chance of pigment change, so sun exposure is avoided before and after treatment. Scars respond gradually across several sessions spaced weeks apart, and the degree of change varies.
