The groove running from the inner corner of the eye down toward the cheek was the concern here. It is the tear trough, and it deepens as the ligament holding the skin to the bone stays fixed while the tissue around it descends.

Baby Collagen placed along the groove releases the visual line without adding bulk to the cheek. The material is soft, so it does not create a ridge where the thin lid skin meets the thicker skin below.

At two weeks the groove has smoothed and the transition from lid to cheek is continuous. The eye area looks brighter and less drawn.

We keep the volume conservative in this area. Overfilling the tear trough produces a puffiness that is more noticeable than the original hollow.

Mild pain, swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection points settles within a few days to two weeks. The under-eye area bruises easily.

Small lumps or unevenness may be felt while the material settles.

Asymmetry can occur and may need adjustment.

The effect is not permanent. The material is absorbed over time and repeat treatment is needed.

Very rarely, injection into a blood vessel can impair blood flow. Visual disturbance has been reported with injection around the eye, though this is extremely rare.

Infection is uncommon.
