This patient had a shallow hollow under each eye with fine crepe lines across the surface. The skin here is the thinnest on the face, so both the depression and the texture show readily.
Baby Collagen addresses both. It fills the hollow and, because it is collagen, works on the quality of the skin covering it.
The photo is immediately after treatment. The under-eye area is smoother and the lower lid runs into the cheek without a step. The fine lines are softer.
We inject through a blunt cannula from a single entry point at the outer corner. One entry point rather than multiple needle passes keeps bruising to a minimum, which matters when patients want to return to work the same day.
Mild pain, swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection points settles within a few days to two weeks. The under-eye area bruises easily.
Small lumps or unevenness may be felt while the material settles.
Asymmetry can occur and may need adjustment.
The effect is not permanent. The material is absorbed over time and repeat treatment is needed.
Very rarely, injection into a blood vessel can impair blood flow. Visual disturbance has been reported with injection around the eye, though this is extremely rare.
Infection is uncommon.
