Assessment showed a shallow but wide hollow under both eyes rather than pigmentation, which is why a filling approach was chosen over any brightening treatment. Baby Collagen was laid against the bone through a blunt cannula, keeping the material below the muscle so that it does not show through the skin above. This image is immediately after the session. Part of what is visible at this stage is injection swelling, and the true volume becomes clear at around two weeks. We keep the amount conservative in this region, since an overfilled tear trough is more noticeable than the hollow it replaced.

Expect tenderness, pinpoint redness, and bruising at the entry points for several days, since the area around the eyes marks easily and clears more slowly than the cheeks. Swelling may fluctuate with salt intake and sleep during the first two weeks. Irregularity, small nodules, or a Tyndall type bluish shadow can follow placement that is too shallow, and correction may be required. Vessel compromise is extremely uncommon. Volume declines gradually as the material breaks down, so repeat treatment is needed.
