Expect tenderness, pinpoint redness, and bruising at the entry points for several days, since the area around the eyes marks easily and clears more slowly than the cheeks. Swelling may fluctuate with salt intake and sleep during the first two weeks. Irregularity, small nodules, or a Tyndall type bluish shadow can follow placement that is too shallow, and correction may be required. Vessel compromise is extremely uncommon. Volume declines gradually as the material breaks down, so repeat treatment is needed.
