Today I’d like to talk about another Italian innovation: Profhilo.
Profhilo, a product by the Italian company IBSA, was introduced in 2015 and is now used in many countries. Surprisingly, it’s been around for quite some time! Its key active ingredients are high-concentration hyaluronic acid (64mg/2ml) with both high-molecular-weight (1100-1400kDa) and low-molecular-weight (80-100kDa) forms. It’s stabilized through heat treatment alone, without cross-linking agents, using IBSA’s patented NAHYCO technology.
Since it’s non-cross-linked, Profhilo isn’t meant for volumizing. Instead, its high-concentration hyaluronic acid is slowly released, promoting extracellular matrix remodeling and activating fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and adipocytes. This process stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.
What sets Profhilo apart from other skin boosters is its action on adipocytes (fat cells)! The initial treatment involves two sessions spaced one month apart, followed by maintenance every six months, making it highly accessible.
I particularly recommend Profhilo for neck wrinkles. It softens lines with a natural lift and volume.
