A 320 cc implant supplies the projection, and the fat grafted over it does something the implant cannot: it thickens the soft tissue covering, which softens the upper pole and hides the implant edge. Slightly different volumes were transferred on each side, 207 cc on the right and 220 cc on the left, to address existing asymmetry rather than adding the same amount blindly. The photograph is at one month. Implants at this stage still sit higher than their final position, and the grafted fat is still settling, with a portion of it reabsorbed over the first months. Shape is reassessed at three to six months.

Placing a 320 cc implant leaves the chest tight, swollen and bruised for one to two weeks, with restricted arm use. Hematoma may need a second operation and infection can force removal of the implant. Altered nipple sensation, asymmetry, capsular contracture, rippling at the upper edge, malposition and rupture are known implant risks, any of which can lead to further surgery. Scars fade but stay visible. Implants are not lifetime devices, a rare associated lymphoma has been described, and imaging staff must be told.

Fat taken from the donor areas leaves them swollen, bruised and sore for two to three weeks, and small contour dips can remain there. Only part of the transferred fat survives, the proportion varies between individuals and sides, and a second grafting session is sometimes wanted. Oil cysts, calcification and firm lumps can develop in the breast and may show on future imaging, so the history has to be reported. Pressure on the breast and sleeping face down are restricted while the graft establishes. Fat necrosis and infection are uncommon.
