Hydration in the lip is often what patients are describing when they ask for fullness. VOLBELLA holds water in a controlled way, so it improves surface quality and softens fine vertical lines while adding only a small amount of volume. Injection was placed with a needle in small aliquots rather than a single deposit, which gives more control over where the product sits in a structure this small. Taken immediately after the session, the image shows early swelling alongside the correction. Ice and avoiding heat for 24 hours helps this resolve, and the settled result is visible at around two weeks.

Lip tissue swells readily, so noticeable puffiness, tenderness, and bruising are common for the first two to four days and are often uneven from one side to the other. People with a history of cold sores may see herpes simplex reactivate, so antiviral cover is discussed beforehand. Small firm points can be felt in the lip while the gel settles over two to three weeks. Contour differences may need a minor adjustment. Rarely, vascular occlusion causes pain and skin change requiring hyaluronidase.
