What Is Morpheus8 burst?
Morpheus8 burst is a treatment that inserts 24* fine needles (microneedles) into the subcutaneous tissue and deliver fractional RF (radiofrequency) thermal energy from the needle tips. The device used is the IgniteRF, which employs technology designed for stable RF delivery.
Expected benefits include improvement of age-related loss of firmness and elasticity, acne scars, scarring, and significant sagging. While conventional needle RF treatments deliver thermal energy to a narrow, targeted layer, Morpheus8 burst distributes the thermal energy generated from the needle tips broadly—from the subcutaneous tissue all the way to the skin's surface. This enables powerful and efficient tightening of the skin's deeper structures. Additionally, by intentionally stimulating the tissues responsible for producing collagen and elastin, the treatment supports the skin's natural wound healing response (wound healing effect), promoting firmer and more elastic skin.
*24 needles—this varies depending on the attachment and fractional tip used. -
Effective Tightening with Two Types of Attachments
Morpheus8 burst is equipped with two types of attachments designed for use in dermatology and plastic surgery. Each has distinct functions and is selected based on the treatment area.
Morpheus8 burst Attachments:
Morpheus8 burst
● Three types of fractional tips available, selected based on the case
● Fractional tips: 24-pin or 12-pin
● Capable of delivering bipolar RF at various depths (0.5 mm–5 mm + approximately 1 mm of thermal effect)
● The tip's 0.5 mm section consists of non-insulated grid-pattern microneedles (31 gauge)
● Primarily used for jawline tightening; can also treat under-eye sagging and dark circles
Morpheus8 burst Deep
● Fractional tip: 40-pin with a wider treatment area
● Capable of automatically delivering bipolar RF at millisecond intervals
● Delivers bipolar RF at deeper levels (maximum depth of 7 mm + approximately 1 mm of thermal effect)
● Provides soft tissue and dermal contraction across multiple layers without affecting dermal pigmentation
● Primarily used for body contouring and tightening -
Equipped with BURST and SCALE Functions
Morpheus8 burst features two proprietary InMode technologies—"BURST" and "SCALE"—in addition to the conventional Morpheus8 functions.
BURST: A technology that delivers fractional RF at varying depths and patterns. Its key feature is the creation of continuous zones of thermal effect. By sequentially treating different layers and heating tissue as a block, it delivers greater energy at a consistent temperature.
SCALE: A technology that delivers higher energy to deeper tissue layers while applying lower energy to the subsequent shallower layers. It can treat two or three depth layers in a single pulse, automatically adjusting the fractional RF energy level to match the set tissue depth.

DOWNTIME AFTER Morpheus8 burst
You may go home immediately after the Morpheus8 burst procedure. However, please refrain from makeup and facial cleansing on the day of treatment. Downtime symptoms may include bleeding from needle insertion sites and redness. If these symptoms are severe or you have any concerns, please contact us promptly.
Treatment Benefits
-
Non-Surgical, Quick Treatment for Comprehensive Sagging Care
Morpheus8 burst can be completed in approximately 20 minutes (depending on the treatment). Since it requires no incisions and addresses a wide range of concerns, it is easy to incorporate as an ongoing treatment.
-
Tightening Treatment with Minimal Downtime
Morpheus8 burst has a downtime of approximately one week. It delivers thermal energy to the subcutaneous tissue while minimizing the burden on the skin's surface, supporting the skin's natural renewal process.
-
Enhanced Results When Combined with Quantum
By combining Morpheus8 burst with other IgniteRF attachments such as Quantum, you can achieve more refined and ideal facial and body contours.

Anesthesia & Treatment
An anesthesia method suited to the patient will be selected (topical cream, local anesthesia, relaxation sedation, nitrous oxide, nerve block, or intravenous sedation) to minimize discomfort during Morpheus8 burst treatment. Microneedles are then inserted into the treatment area, and RF energy is emitted via the needle points. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes depending on the treatment scope. Cooling is applied after the procedure.

FAQ
- Q What is the difference between Morpheus8 burst and Potenza?
-
A
Both Morpheus8 burst and Potenza are microneedle treatments that deliver RF energy from the needle tips. The main difference lies in their built-in features. Morpheus8 burst is a device that inserts microneedles and delivers RF energy.
Potenza, on the other hand, also features a drug delivery function that allows simultaneous infusion of medication. The most suitable device depends on your skin condition, so please consult with your physician for personalized advice. - Q What is the difference between Morpheus8 burst and HIFU?
-
A
The main difference between Morpheus8 burst and HIFU lies in how thermal energy spreads through subcutaneous tissue.
The subcutaneous layer is a key area for achieving tightening effects, and Morpheus8 burst is able to treat a broader area within this layer. - Q Is Morpheus8 burst treatment painful?
-
A
The level of pain varies depending on the depth of needle insertion. While individual experiences differ, insertion into shallower layers tends to cause less discomfort, while deeper insertion may be more painful.
Although pain during Morpheus8 burst is sometimes discussed in patient reviews, our clinic offers several types of anesthesia to accommodate patients who are sensitive to pain. We will recommend the most appropriate option based on your comfort level. - Q When will I start to see results from Morpheus8 burst?
-
A
The effects of Morpheus8 burst typically become more noticeable about one month after treatment. Some patients may see results after the first session, but as a general guideline, undergoing 3–4 treatments at monthly intervals tends to produce more pronounced lifting effects.
- Q Can Morpheus8 burst be combined with laser treatments?
-
A
Morpheus8 burst can be combined with laser treatments as long as the treatment areas do not overlap. However, treating the same area simultaneously is not recommended.
- Q How long is the downtime for Morpheus8 burst?
-
A
While individual experiences vary, the typical downtime for Morpheus8 burst is approximately one week. Localized redness, swelling, and tactile roughness are typical reactions at the points of needle entry. Rubbing the treated area may prolong redness or cause pigmentation.
Adequate moisturizing will help the downtime symptoms gradually subside. Please follow your physician's aftercare instructions. - Q How many sessions of Morpheus8 burst are recommended?
-
A
We recommend 3–4 sessions of Morpheus8 burst at monthly intervals, with progress assessed between sessions.
While patients often notice changes after the first treatment due to its powerful tightening effect, multiple sessions help achieve the desired outcome more effectively. Results typically last several years, though individual experiences may vary. - Q Are there treatments that pair well with Morpheus8 burst?
-
A
Thread lifts and liposuction are treatments that complement Morpheus8 burst well. For example, for under-chin laxity, a thread lift or liposuction can first refine the jawline, after which Morpheus8 burst can smooth the skin texture—resulting in a more satisfying overall outcome.
Our clinic provides personalized treatment recommendations for each patient, so please feel free to consult with us. - Q When can I bathe, wash my face, and wear makeup?
-
A
Home skincare may be resumed the day after Morpheus8 burst treatment. Makeup may be applied 48 hours after the procedure.
