Treatment details: Lower Eyelid Skin Excision (Lower Blepharoplasty)
Excess skin on the lower eyelids can create a tired appearance that persists regardless of sleep, and in this case surgical removal was more appropriate than injection. The incision follows the lash line, where it heals into a fine line that becomes difficult to see once mature. Conservative skin removal is important on the lower lid; taking too much risks pulling the lid margin downward. One month shows a settled early result, though the scar continues to soften and pale over six months or more. Temporary dryness, tearing and a tight sensation are common in the first weeks.
Bruising and swelling around the eyes are marked for the first week and fade over two to three weeks, with watering, dryness, or a gritty feeling during that time. The scar sits below the lash line, stays pink for several months, and softens gradually. Removing too much skin can pull the lid margin downward or make full closure difficult, which may require correction, while removing too little leaves residual looseness. Asymmetry, bleeding, and infection are uncommon.
