Submental fullness in this case came from both fat volume and skin laxity, so removing fat alone would have risked leaving loose skin behind. We combined liposuction under the chin with FaceTite, which delivers radiofrequency beneath the skin to contract the tissue, and Morpheus8 to remodel the layers closer to the surface. Six months is a useful point to review this combination because tightening driven by radiofrequency continues well past the initial swelling phase. Numbness along the jaw and firmness under the chin are expected during recovery and settle gradually. A compression garment is worn as instructed in the early weeks to support the skin as it retracts.

Under the chin, swelling and firmness are greatest in the first week and continue to change for two to three months. Bruising along the jaw, numbness of the skin, and a tight feeling through the day are usual, and compression is worn as instructed. The contour can settle unevenly, and loose skin may remain where elasticity is poor. Seroma, infection, or lasting hardness are uncommon. Fat embolism and deep vein thrombosis are rare but serious risks of the procedure.

FaceTite passes a heated probe beneath the skin, so the treated zone stays swollen and firm for one to two weeks and numbness may linger for one to three months. Entry points leave tiny marks that usually fade. Overheating can cause a burn, an irregular surface, or a visible band, though careful temperature control makes this uncommon. Tightening develops slowly across three to six months, varies with skin quality, and further treatment is sometimes advised.

After radiofrequency microneedling the skin shows a faint pattern of dots, redness, and swelling that resolves in two to five days, with dryness and mild flaking afterwards. Bruising, tenderness, or brief tingling can occur. Darkening of the treated area may follow in pigment prone skin, so sun protection is required, and burns or small scars are rare. A course of three sessions is typical, with change appearing over the following months.
