The nasal tip sat low here, which pulled the whole nose down in profile and made it read as longer than it is.
We placed a firm hyaluronic acid at the columella and the tip to raise the high point. The volume is small. What matters is where it sits, because a few tenths of a millilitre at the correct depth changes the angle between the nose and the upper lip.
The photo is immediately after treatment. The tip sits higher, the profile line runs straight, and the nose looks shorter without any change to its width.
The nasal tip is the highest-risk site for filler. We inject through a cannula, in small amounts, with the total volume kept low, and we do not treat a nose that has had a previous implant or surgery without reviewing the operative history first.
Pain, swelling, redness, and bruising settle within one to two weeks.
Lumps or irregularity may be felt and usually soften over several weeks.
Asymmetry can occur and may need adjustment.
Hyaluronic acid is absorbed over time. Repeat treatment is needed to maintain the result.
The nose is a high-risk area for injection. Very rarely, injection into a blood vessel can impair blood flow and cause skin necrosis of the nose. Visual disturbance has been reported with filler injection in this region, though extremely rare.
Infection is uncommon.
