What is Profhilo?
PROFHILO®︎ is a high-concentration hyaluronic acid product that combines high-molecular-weight and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. These two types of hyaluronic acid activate fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and adipocytes that form skin firmness and elasticity, promoting the increase of collagen and elastin to give the skin volume. Profhilo’s characteristic is that it promotes cellular reconstruction from the deep soft tissue layers of the skin, aiming for natural skin quality improvement. It is manufactured using the patented thermal processing method NAHYCO™ developed by the Italian company IBSA, and is also called next-generation hyaluronic acid or the third injectable.
How does Profhilo for skin rejuvenation differ from hyaluronic acid for contouring?
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid product designed for skin treatment, or skin rejuvenation. It is highly fluid and when injected, it diffuses to surrounding areas, activating skin cells. It is characterized by its ability to reconstruct (remodel) aged skin from the foundation through deep tissue release.
In contrast, hyaluronic acid injections for contouring are treatments that directly inject into areas of concern to improve wrinkles and nasolabial folds or to shape the contours. The injected hyaluronic acid remains at the injection points and improves the treated area.
Therefore, Profhilo can be considered a groundbreaking skin booster treatment that achieves more natural youthfulness compared to hyaluronic acid injections.
