Baby Collagen (Babyderm® / Collagen Boost) at BIANCA CLINIC
Advanced Injection Techniques by Experienced Physicians
babyderm is carefully injected by hand using a syringe. Manual injection allows precise control of depth, volume, and angle according to each patient’s skin condition. However, outcomes can vary significantly depending on the physician’s expertise.
Excessive injection may cause unevenness or lumpiness, while insufficient volume may limit visible improvement. For this reason, technical skill is essential.
At BIANCA CLINIC, treatments including babyderm treatments are performed by highly experienced physicians specializing in injectable procedures. During consultation, we can also utilize the advanced skin analysis system VISIA® to objectively evaluate skin condition before and after treatment. After carefully assessing your facial balance and skin quality, we propose a customized treatment plan tailored to your goals.
Downtime
Temporary swelling, redness, mild pain, needle marks, or bruising may occur after the procedure.
These reactions are generally mild and improve gradually, though individual responses may vary.

- Patients seeking a natural, youthful appearance
- Those wishing to improve skin quality at a fundamental level with Babyderm® treatment

Baby Collagen (Babyderm® / Collagen Boost) Characteristics
What Is Baby Collagen?
Baby Collagen is a collagen formulation derived from human placental tissue, injected into the dermis to improve skin elasticity and address fine lines and dark circles.
Among the approximately 30 types of collagen identified, Types I through V are the primary structural collagens found in the skin. Most Baby Collagen formulations consist mainly of Type I and Type III collagen.
Type I collagen accounts for approximately 70% of the skin’s dermal structure and provides firmness and structural support.Type III collagen, often referred to as “baby collagen,” is abundant during fetal development and early childhood and supports flexibility and smooth texture alongside Type I collagen.
By directly replenishing collagen that diminishes with age, Baby Collagen helps restore a healthy internal skin environment and promotes a plump, youthful appearance.
What Is Babyderm®?
babyderm is considered a fourth-generation collagen injectable composed of ultra-fine collagen particles.
In addition to Type I and Type III collagen, babyderm also contains Type V collagen. Each plays a distinct role:
- Type I Collagen – Structural Support
- Type III Collagen – Flexibility and Smoothness
- Type V Collagen – Structural Stabilization
By replenishing these three types in balanced proportions, babyderm aims not merely to restore volume but to improve the skin’s structural integrity, guiding it toward smooth, baby-like skin.
Suitable for Superficial and Delicate Areas
Because Babyderm® is non-crosslinked, low in viscosity, and derived from human collagen, it integrates smoothly into skin tissue. This reduces the likelihood of unnatural irregularities or visible unevenness after injection.
Using a specialized ultra-fine needle or microcannula, small amounts are carefully distributed evenly within the superficial dermis. This allows effective treatment of delicate areas such as fine lines around the eyes, crepey wrinkles, and under-eye dark circles, helping restore hydration and firmness from within.
BIANCA Original Treatment – “Collagen Boost”
“Collagen Boost” is BIANCA CLINIC’s original injectable treatment that combines fourth-generation Baby Collagen with a skin-rejuvenating injectable known as “Hydro.”
Rather than simply adding volume, this treatment aims to rebuild the skin’s foundation. By delivering both collagen-supporting components and ingredients that improve the underlying skin environment, it addresses multiple aging concerns such as dryness, fine lines, and reduced elasticity.
It is recommended for patients seeking comprehensive skin quality improvement rather than temporary correction alone.
Baby Collagen (Babyderm® / Collagen Boost) Benefits
Supports Long-Term Skin Conditioning
With continued treatments, babyderm may support natural collagen production and improved skin conditioning.
Immediate Visible Improvement
Because babyderm provides immediate volumizing support, many patients notice visible changes after injection.
Suitable for Delicate Areas from Eyes to Neck
Due to its high tissue compatibility and smooth consistency, Baby Collagen can be used in thin, delicate areas such as around the eyes, fine lines around the mouth, and horizontal neck wrinkles.
Baby Collagen (Babyderm® / Collagen Boost) Treatment Considerations
Difference Between Baby Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid Injections
Both hyaluronic acid injections and Babyderm® are effective treatments for wrinkles, but their mechanisms differ.
Hyaluronic acid injections primarily add volume to deeper areas, correcting contour irregularities and depressions.Babyderm®, on the other hand, has lower viscosity and smaller molecular size, making it particularly suitable for treating fine superficial wrinkles and delicate under-eye concerns.
In thin skin areas, hyaluronic acid may occasionally cause visibility issues such as the Tyndall effect or lumpiness. Babyderm® is formulated with consideration for minimizing these risks.
Consideration for Allergy Risk
Traditional collagen injectables were often derived from bovine or porcine sources, which required allergy testing due to structural differences from human proteins.
The Babyderm® used at our clinic is derived from donated placental tissue from Japanese women and contains collagen types naturally present in the human dermis (Types I, III, and V). Because of its high similarity to native human collagen, the risk of adverse immune responses, such as foreign body reactions, is considered relatively low, and pre-treatment allergy testing is generally not required.
Same-day treatment may be available following consultation, depending on physician assessment and clinic scheduling.
Microcannula Technique and Lidocaine-Containing Formula for Comfort
Treatment is performed using an ultra-fine microcannula with a rounded tip, which helps reduce trauma to blood vessels and nerves. This may lower the risk of bruising and swelling while shortening downtime.
In addition, the formulation contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to minimize discomfort during injection. While sensitivity varies by individual, most patients tolerate the procedure well even without additional anesthesia. Anesthetic options are available upon request.
Treatment Area

When can I bathe after treatment?
Bathing is permitted from the day after treatment. Showering is allowed on the same day.
How long does it take for Baby Collagen (Babyderm® / Collagen Boost) to integrate into the skin?
Because Baby Collagen (Babyderm® / Collagen Boost) has relatively high compatibility with the skin’s natural collagen, it is considered to integrate relatively quickly after injection.
What is the downtime or risk of side effects? How long do they last?
Temporary swelling, redness, or puffiness may occur after treatment. These reactions typically do not interfere with daily activities and generally subside within a few days to about one week, although individual experiences may vary.
How long does the procedure take?
The duration varies depending on the area and extent of injection, but the procedure itself typically takes around 10 minutes.
(Consultation and anesthesia time are not included.)
Are there any precautions after Babyderm® treatment?
On the day of treatment, please avoid activities that increase blood circulation, such as excessive alcohol consumption, intense exercise, sauna use, or hot stone spa treatments, as these may increase the risk of bruising or swelling.
Avoid massaging the treated area for approximately one week, as this may cause the injected product to spread and reduce effectiveness.Additionally, because Babyderm® is derived from human placental tissue, patients who undergo this treatment are not eligible to donate blood afterward.
