Hi, this is Dr. Yuki. Do you have migraine? Well, it is time to say goodbye to migran, finally.

This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of botulinum toxin type A (Botox) in preventing migraines. Traditional migraine treatments often have limited effectiveness and undesirable side effects. Botox has shown promise in alleviating pain for various conditions, leading researchers to explore its benefits for migraines.

In a double-blind study, 123 participants with a history of 2 to 8 migraines per month were divided into groups receiving either Botox (25 U or 75 U) or a placebo. Over three months, participants recorded their migraine symptoms and medication use.

Results showed that the 25-U Botox group experienced significantly fewer migraines, reduced severity, less need for acute migraine medication, and less vomiting compared to the placebo group. Both Botox groups rated their overall improvement higher than the placebo group. The treatment was generally well-tolerated, with only the 75-U group reporting more adverse events.

In conclusion, 25 U of Botox was found to be a safe and effective treatment for reducing the frequency and severity of migraines.
