Doctor's Comments

Left image: Before treatment / Right image: 1 week after

This patient underwent breast augmentation with Motiva implants (R: 315cc / L: 315cc).
Due to a history of right breast tumor resection, there was significant scar tissue and adhesion, especially on the right side.
A subglandular placement was selected, with tumescence used bilaterally (R: 300cc / L: 300cc).
The patient had expressed concerns about breast ptosis and asymmetry, particularly after delivering three children.
Bilateral J-Vac drains were inserted due to the complexity of the case and the risk of seroma.
No fixation band was used on the day of surgery; instead, elastic bandages were applied for gentle support.
The surgical wounds were dressed with MIX ointment + gauze and Silkytex.

Risks & Side Effects

Capsular Contracture : The scar tissue around the implant may harden, causing discomfort, distortion, or asymmetry. Revision surgery may be needed.
Infection : Though rare, infection may occur after surgery. In some cases, implant removal may be necessary.
Hematoma / Seroma (Blood or Fluid Accumulation) : Internal bleeding or fluid accumulation may require drainage or additional procedures.
Implant Malposition or Displacement : The implant may shift from its intended position, causing asymmetry or distortion. Correctional surgery may be required.
Rupture or Leakage of the Implant : Although rare, silicone implants may rupture or leak over time. MRI or ultrasound may be needed to confirm, and replacement may be necessary.
Changes in Sensation : Temporary or permanent numbness or changes in nipple or breast sensitivity may occur.
Scarring : Individual healing varies, and some may develop raised or noticeable scars (hypertrophic or keloid).
Unsatisfactory Aesthetic Outcome : There may be dissatisfaction with the size, shape, or symmetry, which might require revision surgery.
Interference with Breastfeeding : While many can still breastfeed, some may experience difficulties.
Need for Future Surgery : Breast implants are not lifetime devices. Future surgeries may be necessary for replacement, correction, or removal.
