The patient’s main concern is submental fullness, which has never been sharply contoured since childhood. Evaluation revealed not only excess subcutaneous fat and skin laxity but also looseness of the platysma and some deep fat. Although the patient prefers to avoid surgical procedures such as a pelican lift, a combination approach was planned to improve contour and tightness. Submandibularl area treatment includes non-surgical face tightening, Morpheus8, and submental liposuction under lauphing gas anesthesia. This multi-modal approach aims to enhance jawline definition while minimizing invasiveness and downtime.

Submental liposuction carries the usual risks associated with fat removal procedures, including swelling, bruising, temporary numbness, contour irregularities, asymmetry, infection, and bleeding. There is also a small risk of hematoma or seroma formation.

Face tightening and Morpheus8, being energy-based skin tightening and microneedling radiofrequency treatments, can cause temporary redness, swelling, minor bruising, and discomfort. Rarely, patients may experience burns, pigment changes, or scarring.

Combining these modalities under sedation adds minimal risks related to sedation, such as nausea, dizziness, or respiratory issues, but these are generally mild with nitrous oxide.

Overall, while serious complications are uncommon, patients may notice temporary swelling, unevenness, or prolonged healing in the treated submental area, and results may vary depending on skin elasticity and underlying anatomy.
