The patient presented with concerns about dynamic wrinkles on the forehead and around the outer corners of the eyes. These expression-induced lines created a slightly tired or aged appearance. After assessing muscle strength and baseline wrinkle formation, a customized injection plan was designed to reduce excessive muscle movement while preserving natural facial expression.
Allergan Botox was carefully administered to the frontalis and lateral orbicularis oculi muscles using a balanced and conservative dosage. At two weeks post-treatment, the forehead appears smoother with reduced wrinkling during animation, and the periocular area maintains a soft, natural look without heaviness. Particular attention was paid to preserving brow mobility and avoiding an over-frozen appearance, ensuring a refined and natural result.
Botox injections generally carry a low risk of complications, but temporary and mild side effects may occur. These can include slight redness, swelling, pinpoint bruising, or mild discomfort at the injection sites. Some patients may experience temporary eyebrow asymmetry, mild brow heaviness, or subtle difficulty lifting the brows due to unintended diffusion into adjacent muscles.
Less common reactions include headache, flu-like symptoms, or dry eyes. In rare cases, unintended spread of the toxin may cause temporary eyelid ptosis, which usually resolves spontaneously within several weeks.
Overall, Botox is considered a safe and minimally invasive procedure when performed by trained specialists, and most side effects, if they occur, are short-lived and manageable.
