What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal helps to reduce or eliminate unwanted hair. It eliminates the need for repetitive shaving or plucking, thus reducing skin stress.
There are two main types of hair removal: Laser Hair Removal at aesthetic clinics and esthetic hair removal at salons. The differences are as follows:

Laser Hair Removal uses lasers that react with melanin in the hair to destroy hair roots and reduce regrowth.
There are two types of medical laser devices: thermal destruction and accumulated heat. BIANCA CLINIC uses the GentleLase Pro. (The Ginza branch uses “GentleLASE mini” instead.)
This high-output laser targets the hair growth tissue effectively and is often chosen by those who want quick results and aren’t particularly sensitive to pain. It’s also effective on coarse, thick hair, making it ideal for areas like Laser Hair Removal underarms or men’s beards. -
Hair Growth Cycle Affects Results
To maximize Laser Hair Removal results, it’s essential to consider the hair growth cycle, which includes the growth, regression, and resting phases.
Laser hair removal works best during the hair's growth phase because that's when melanin is abundant due to rapid cell division. Since lasers target melanin, treatments during this phase are more effective.
However, hair cycles differ by area: the face ranges from about 6 months to 1 year and 3 months, while the underarms are about 7 months. To ensure optimal results, treatments should align with each area’s cycle. As individual differences exist, your best schedule will be discussed during counseling. -
Cooling Function Reduces Pain
Although thermal destruction lasers are effective against thick hair, they can also cause more pain. However, the medical devices used at our clinic feature cooling systems, allowing for pain-conscious Laser Hair Removal treatment.
What kind of cooling system is used?
Immediately before laser emission, a -20°C to -26°C cooling gas is sprayed to minimize pain and thermal damage.
For those worried about pain, optional surface anesthesia or nitrous oxide sedation is also available (additional fees apply).
We also offer aftercare options like “MESONA-J” and “Target Cool” to soothe the skin post-treatment.
