What Is Medical HIFU?
HIFU high intensity focused ultrasound is a lifting treatment using highly concentrated ultrasound energy. It delivers heat deep into the skin, reaching the SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System) layer—the foundation of the skin—resulting in a lifting effect from deep within.
Bianca Clinic uses the latest model of the ULTRAcel series, “ULTRAcel Zi®.” It features high-speed dual-directional shots and can target areas such as sagging cheeks, double chin, and the delicate area around the eyes. It’s a non-surgical lifting solution that treats fine lines and sagging under the eyes and eyelids.
ULTRAcel Zi® uses multiple cartridges depending on the treatment area. Two modes allow for immediate switching during treatment:

A built-in sensor detects endpoints automatically to prevent overlapping shots, ensuring uniform, safe treatment. It also reduces issues such as uneven energy delivery and heat concentration seen in previous devices. -
Dot Mode HIFU – Heat Reaches SMAS Layer to Firm Skin
Dot mode HIFU targets the skin’s deeper layers to lift and firm. This is what most people refer to when they mention “HIFU.” Focused ultrasound delivers pinpoint heat to areas like the SMAS layer.
Temperatures reach about 65°C, causing proteins to contract through denaturation, lifting the skin from within. As the dermis repairs from this thermal effect, collagen and elastin production is boosted, improving elasticity and firmness.
The cartridges used can target different depths: 1.5mm for the epidermis, 3.0mm for the subcutaneous fat layer, and 4.5mm for the SMAS layer. By delivering heat to each of these layers, both a lifting effect for sagging and a tightening effect for the skin can be expected. -
Linear Mode Lipo HIFU – Wide Coverage for Fat Reduction
Linear mode lipo HIFU is ideal for reducing fat volume as well as sagging. It delivers ultrasound energy in a linear pattern to reach broader fat layers compared to dot mode.
With a temperature of about 58°C—sufficient to break down fat cells—this mode is effective for reducing fat volume. It’s especially recommended for contouring areas like double chin, jawline, or drooping mouth corners. It delivers both contouring and skin tightening effects. -
HIFU Tight – Maintenance for Mild Sagging and Fine Lines
HIFU Tight uses a 2.0mｓm cartridge to deliver rapid, shallow shots for maintaining mild sagging and improving surface-level skin quality, including elasticity and fine lines.
Expected Effects of HIFU Tight:

After the gel is removed, you will wash your face to complete the procedure. You may apply makeup before leaving the clinic. Bathing is also allowed on the same day of the treatment.
