“How much Kabelline do I need for my double chin?”

A general reference for the area under the chin is 4–6 mL.

That is useful information, but it is not enough to plan an injection.

At BIANCA CLINIC, we decide the amount after looking at the client’s chin, jawline, skin, and overall facial balance.

A double chin does not always come from having too much fat.

Sometimes the chin looks full because of the underlying bone structure.

Loose skin may be involved as well.

If we reduce fat without checking these points, the face may become slimmer without moving any closer to the contour the client wanted.

That is why we do not begin the consultation by focusing on a syringe or a fixed number of milliliters.

We usually begin by asking the client to turn to the side.

Why We Look at the Profile First

Facial profile assessment before fat dissolving injections for the chin

A good-looking profile depends on balance. The amount of fat beneath the chin is only one part of it.

We first look at the E-line and assess the relative positions of the nose, lips, and chin.

The E-line is not a rule that every face needs to follow. It gives us one way to understand how the lower face sits in relation to the rest of the profile.

The projection of the chin is particularly important when considering fat dissolving injections for the chin.

If the chin sits farther back, the space between the chin and the neck can appear shorter.

The tissue in that area may then appear heavier, even when there is not a large amount of fat.

The opposite can also happen. A client with good chin projection may have a clear, isolated pocket of fat. In that case, reducing the pocket can make a visible difference because the underlying structure already supports the jawline.

This is the reason we check the profile before choosing the injection points.

We need to know whether excess fat under the chin is the main concern or whether another feature is creating the appearance of a double chin.

Looking at the profile also helps us decide where the treatment should stop.

Removing fat from every soft area is not our goal.

We use the client’s facial balance to determine which area may benefit from fat reduction and which areas should retain their natural volume.

When a Double Chin Is Not Mainly a Fat Problem

It is easy to look at a bulge beneath the chin and assume that it must be fat.

In some clients, however, the appearance comes largely from their skeletal structure or anatomy.

A small or recessed chin is a common example.

When the chin has limited forward projection, the area below it may appear more crowded.

This can create a fold or make the jaw-to-neck angle less visible.

The position and shape of the jaw, the muscles beneath the chin, and the anatomy around the floor of the mouth and neck can also affect the contour.

These structures cannot be changed by dissolving fat.

The client may still have some subcutaneous fat, so the situation is not always one or the other.

The question is whether that fat is the main reason the area looks full.

If it is only a minor factor, Kabelline may produce a smaller change than the client expects.

This often comes up when a client shows us a photograph of their ideal profile. They may be focusing on the absence of a double chin in the photograph.

We also look at how far the model’s chin projects forward and how the jaw meets the neck.

If those structural features are different, reducing the same amount of fat will not reproduce the same profile.

The examination allows us to explain this before treatment.

The client can then decide whether the degree of change expected from Kabelline is worthwhile.

How We Decide the Amount and Treatment Area

BIANCA CLINIC lists approximately 4–6 mL as a general reference for the area under the chin.

However, we do not use the same amount for every client.

The amount depends on the thickness and distribution of the fat, as well as the size of the area being treated.

Some clients have a small pocket of fat in the center beneath the chin. In others, the fullness extends toward both sides of the jawline.

If the fat continues along the jawline, treating only the center may leave the surrounding fullness unchanged.

On the other hand, treating too wide an area when the fat pocket is small may reduce volume that contributes to the natural shape of the lower face.

For this reason, we examine the area from the front, side, and oblique angles. We also assess the thickness and mobility of the tissue by palpation.

The doctor then determines how much Kabelline to use and where it should be injected.

The 4–6 mL range is a general reference rather than a fixed dose or a guarantee of results.

▶ The appropriate amount is determined by a physician after assessing the treatment area and the individual’s condition.

Photographs taken before the consultation may not provide all the information needed to determine the appropriate amount.

The amount used may also change over the course of treatment.

After the swelling from the first session has settled, the doctor evaluates how the area has changed and whether another session should be considered.

The total number of sessions and the amount required do not always need to be decided before the first treatment.

Why Pinchable Tissue Is Not Always Fat We Should Remove

During the examination, the doctor may pinch the area under the chin.

This helps us assess the tissue, but it does not mean that everything we can pinch between the fingers is fat.

The fold includes skin and connective tissue.

Skin laxity can make the area feel soft and mobile, especially after weight loss or as elasticity decreases with age.

This distinction changes the treatment plan.

If the skin is expected to contract after gradual fat reduction, Kabelline may help create a cleaner contour.

If the skin is already loose, removing the volume underneath it may make the laxity more noticeable.

For this reason, some clients are better suited to a tightening treatment.

HIFU, Volnewmer radiofrequency, or POTENZA may be discussed depending on the condition of the skin and the layer that needs to be addressed.

The treatments do not have the same purpose.

Kabelline is used to reduce localized fat.

Energy-based treatments may be selected when looseness or skin quality is contributing to the appearance.

In some cases, both issues are present and the doctor may discuss a combined plan.

Even then, combining procedures is not automatic.

We consider what the client finds most bothersome, how much downtime is acceptable, and how much change each treatment is likely to provide.

When We Prefer Not to Reduce the Fat

Double chin assessment before fat dissolving injections for the chin

There are two situations in which we are particularly cautious.

The first is when reducing the fat could leave loose skin behind.

A client with marked laxity may not get a tighter jawline from fat reduction alone.

Reducing the volume in the area could simply make the skin laxity more noticeable.

The second is when removing volume could affect the three-dimensional balance or youthful softness of the face.

Facial fat is not always unwanted. It helps connect the chin, jaw, and neck and can soften the outline of the lower face.

This matters in a slim face or a face with limited chin projection.

There may be a small amount of fat that can technically be treated, but reducing it may create a hollow area rather than a naturally defined jawline.

We also consider how the face looks from the front.

A treatment may appear successful in a carefully angled profile photograph while making the lower face look too narrow or uneven from another angle.

Facial expressions can reveal the change differently as well.

At BIANCA CLINIC, the aim is not to remove the largest possible amount of fat.

We use the client’s desired contour as the reference.

Sometimes that means treating a smaller area.

Sometimes it means stopping after fewer sessions than originally expected. Occasionally, we recommend leaving the fat alone.

How Kabelline Fits Into BIANCA’s Approach

Kabelline fat dissolving injections for chin and double chin treatment

Kabelline contains 0.5% high-concentration deoxycholic acid, which acts on fat cells in the injected area.

It also contains L-carnitine and artichoke extract, ingredients that help support metabolism and fat elimination.

Clients often choose Kabelline because they want to address a localized area without undergoing liposuction.

The treatment does not require an incision, although swelling can still occur.

The procedure itself takes approximately 15 minutes. However, swelling can still occur, so “non-surgical” should not be confused with “no downtime.”

Temporary swelling, edema, redness, itching, tightness, tenderness, and bruising may develop after the injection.

Swelling and redness may continue for two to three days.

Bruising can remain for one to two weeks in some clients.

Depending on the amount of fat, 3 to 6 sessions may be recommended, often at intervals of one to two weeks.

Several sessions may be needed, but the number is determined by the amount of fat and the response to treatment.

For international clients visiting Tokyo, treatment timing is also important.

Because swelling can temporarily make the area look fuller, it is worth considering your travel schedule and important events before treatment.

An injection immediately before a wedding, photo session, or business meeting may not be a good idea.

The area can temporarily look fuller while it is swollen.

Our approach is to keep the burden and downtime in mind while choosing a treatment that suits the actual cause of the concern.

Kabelline may be used when there is a suitable pocket of fat.

If the client also has sagging, a procedure such as BIANCA LIFT W, HIFU, Volnewmer, or POTENZA may be discussed.

A client with a larger amount of fat may wish to compare injections with liposuction from the beginning.

Clients whose concerns are related to overall weight management may be offered information about BIANCA’s medical weight-loss options.

These are separate treatment options, and not every client needs them.

If you are considering fat dissolving injections for a double chin, the first step is not deciding how many milliliters you need.

It is understanding what is creating the appearance of fullness under your chin.

At BIANCA CLINIC in Tokyo, we assess your facial balance, chin projection, fat distribution, and skin condition before deciding whether Kabelline is appropriate and how much should be used.
