Q What is ezGEL (PRF)?
A

ezGEL (PRF) is a regenerative injectable made entirely from your own blood. After a blood draw, your plasma is separated and gently heated to 75°C so its own proteins form a natural gel, which is then combined with Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF). It adds filler-like volume while its growth factors stimulate your skin’s own collagen production — with no synthetic additives.

Q How is ezGEL different from PRP and PRF?
A

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) are blood concentrates obtained by centrifuging your own blood, and they mainly improve skin quality. ezGEL adds a heat-gelation step: heating the plasma to 75°C makes its proteins self-assemble into a gel. This gives ezGEL volumizing properties much closer to a filler — you keep PRP’s skin-rejuvenating benefits and gain a real firming, volumizing effect.

Q How is ezGEL different from hyaluronic acid filler?
A

Both can restore volume, but the material is completely different. Hyaluronic acid filler is a synthetic product that relies on chemical cross-linkers (such as BDDE) to hold its shape and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. ezGEL is made only from your own blood, contains no additives or cross-linkers, and also stimulates regeneration — with less risk of lumps or an overfilled look. Note that it cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase, and its volume typically lasts a shorter time than long-acting fillers.

Q How is ezGEL different from baby collagen and other skin boosters?
A

Skin boosters and baby collagen mainly improve skin quality and add only mild volume. ezGEL provides a more distinct, filler-like volume effect thanks to its gel structure, while still delivering regenerative, skin-quality benefits — and it is made entirely from your own blood rather than from a formulated product.

Q Is ezGEL really allergy-free because it is made from my own blood?
A

Because it is made only from your own tissue, the risk of rejection or serious allergy is theoretically extremely low. However, because the separated plasma is heated, the structure of Human Serum Albumin (HSA) changes slightly, so a rare immune response cannot be completely ruled out for every individual. Your doctor will carefully review your allergy history during consultation.

Q Does the treatment require a blood draw?
A

Yes. A small amount of your own blood is drawn at the start of each session, in the same way as a routine blood test, and your ezGEL is prepared from it on the spot — no donor material and no synthetic products are used.

Q Which areas can be treated with ezGEL?
A

The areas our doctors recommend most are under the eyes, smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines and the fine lines around the mouth — ezGEL is especially good for the eye area and mouth area, where skin is thin and delicate. It also restores cheek volume and improves overall firmness and skin quality. Suitability for other areas is assessed individually during your consultation.

Q Is ezGEL good for under-eye hollows and dark circles?
A

The under-eye area is one of the most popular uses of ezGEL. Because it is soft, contains no synthetic cross-linked material and integrates naturally, it suits the thin, delicate skin under the eyes, restoring volume to hollows that cast dark-circle shadows while the PRF component gradually improves skin quality. If your dark circles are mainly caused by pigmentation rather than volume loss, our doctors may recommend a different or combined approach at consultation.

Q How many sessions do I need, and how often?
A

A single session is possible, but a course of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is the recommended guideline for the best, most sustained result. If your goal is immediate volume only, one session is also an option.

Q How long does ezGEL last, and when will I see results?
A

You will notice firmness immediately after treatment, and skin quality then improves over the course of about one month as the growth factors stimulate your own collagen. In published research, the improvement was maintained at six months after treatment, and repeat sessions tend to produce a longer-lasting effect. The duration of results varies between individuals.

Q Is there any downtime, and how long is recovery?
A

Downtime is minimal and recovery is quick for most patients. Because ezGEL is an injection treatment using your own blood, swelling or bruising at the treated area can occur, as with any injectable; the degree and duration vary between individuals, and the detailed course is explained at your consultation. Most patients return to work and daily life immediately.

Q What are the possible side effects of ezGEL?
A

Possible side effects are swelling, bruising and redness at the treated area, and — rarely — infection or small firm nodules. Because ezGEL is made from your own blood, rejection and allergic reactions are theoretically very unlikely. Any concerns are reviewed with your doctor before treatment.

Q Does the injection hurt?
A

Local anesthesia is used, and the injection itself is performed with a blunt-tipped microcannula rather than a sharp needle — this both reduces discomfort and lowers the risk of bruising. Most patients tolerate the treatment very comfortably; please tell us at consultation if you are sensitive to pain.

Q What are the aftercare instructions after ezGEL?
A

You can return to your normal daily routine from the day of treatment. The only special aftercare instruction is makeup: please wait until the next day before applying makeup directly over the needle entry points — elsewhere, makeup is fine on the same day. We explain your personalised aftercare instructions before you leave the clinic.

Q Sa kohë zgjat procedura?
A

The procedure itself takes about 30 minutes. Allow extra time on the day for your consultation, the blood draw and the in-clinic preparation of your ezGEL.

Q How much does ezGEL treatment cost in Tokyo?
A

At BIANCA CLINIC Tokyo, ezGEL (PRF) costs ¥198,000 (tax included) per session, plus an additional treatment fee of ¥24,200 (tax included). ezGEL is offered as single sessions — there is no course package, so you can decide on any further sessions one at a time with your doctor. Counseling and interpretation services are free of charge.

Q Can ezGEL be combined with hyaluronic acid or fat grafting?
A

Yes. Our doctors think of ezGEL as similar in character to nanofat — a soft, natural volumizer — so where stronger, structural volume is wanted, hyaluronic acid filler or fat grafting can be combined with ezGEL. It can also complement device-based treatments. The best combination for your goals is planned at consultation.

Q Who is ezGEL recommended for — and is there anyone who cannot receive it?
A

ezGEL suits beginners to aesthetic medicine, because it is made from your own blood and carries less risk of lumps or an overfilled look than hyaluronic acid — and it equally suits experienced patients who have tried many treatments but still feel their skin lacks firmness. There are no specific contraindications, though the treatment is difficult if you are very uncomfortable with blood draws, and we ask pregnant patients to refrain from all treatments.

Q Where can I receive ezGEL (PRF) in Tokyo?
A

ezGEL (PRF) is available at both BIANCA CLINIC Ginza and BIANCA CLINIC Omotesando, performed by any of our doctors, with free English interpretation support. Please contact us or book a consultation to discuss whether it is right for you.
