Eight ARTEMIS threads were placed to lift the cheek, and the nasolabial fold was treated separately with Teosyal RHA 3. The sequence matters here: lifting first reduces how much filler the fold requires, and injecting a large volume into the fold without addressing the descent above it tends to look heavy. Thread count was chosen to match the amount of tissue needing support rather than applied as a fixed number. The photograph is immediately after the procedure. Puckering along the thread lines can appear in the first days and resolves as the tissue settles. Wide mouth opening is restricted for two weeks.

For about ten days the cheeks feel taut, particularly when yawning or chewing, and swelling with bruising follows the line of insertion. Slight rippling or a dent where a thread is anchored generally settles within weeks, and persistent puckering can be released. The two sides may lift differently. Infrequently a thread is palpable, works its way toward the surface, or becomes infected and needs taking out. The effect softens as the threads break down.

Filler in the nasolabial folds produces tenderness, mild swelling, and occasional bruising for several days. Because the fold moves with every expression, the gel may spread or leave a small ridge that can be smoothed or dissolved. Overcorrection can look heavy in this area. The facial artery runs nearby, so vascular occlusion, though rare, is a recognized emergency treated with hyaluronidase. The correction softens over several months to a year.
