Ten threads were placed to address laxity extending from the cheek down to the jawline. ARTEMIS threads engage tissue along their length rather than at a single anchor point, which distributes the lift and reduces the dimpling that can occur when tension concentrates in one area. The change visible in this image is immediate and mechanical. The collagen response that maintains it develops over the following two to three months as the threads absorb. Tightness and mild discomfort on wide mouth opening are expected in the first week and resolve without intervention. Follow up is scheduled at one month.

Tenderness along the thread tracks and a feeling of tension when the mouth is opened widely are usual for one to two weeks, and a soft diet is advised at the start. Swelling and bruises appear near the temples where the threads are anchored. Skin puckering above the barbs flattens within days in most cases. Uneven lift, a thread that can be felt, and, rarely, extrusion or infection needing removal are the main concerns. The effect is temporary and eases after roughly a year.
