Injection into the lower lid causes bruising more often than most sites, and marks are typically visible for a week, occasionally longer. Fluid retention makes the area look puffy for the first days. A superficial deposit may be felt as a small ridge or seen as the bluish Tyndall shade, which can be corrected at review. Asymmetry sometimes remains. Vascular complication around the orbit is rare. The effect fades as the material is absorbed.
Filler in the midcheek groove sits over bone in an area that moves with smiling, so temporary puffiness, tenderness, and a firm feel are usual during the first week. Product can shift or form a palpable lump that requires dissolving. Bruising here may track downward before clearing. Rarely, injection close to the facial artery or its branches causes a vascular problem needing urgent hyaluronidase. Correction lasts several months to a year.
