What is baby collagen?
Baby collagen is an injectable formulation that combines type I and type III collagen in a 1:1 ratio.
Type III collagen is found abundantly in the skin of newborn babies and is deeply involved in skin elasticity and firmness. As we age, type III collagen decreases, leading to thinner skin and wrinkles, but by injecting baby collagen, we can compensate for this deficiency.
The product is FDA-approved in the United States and is highly safe, widely used in cosmetic clinics in Japan. (It tends to be scarce due to its high rarity…!)

Effects of baby collagen
① Improvement of dark circles under the eyes.
- Effective especially for thin skin or indentation types of blue or dark circles.
- Creates thickness in the skin to make the appearance of blood vessels and shadows less noticeable.
② Improvement of fine lines.
- Useful for fine lines around the eyes and mouth.
- Can be injected into shallow layers that are difficult to treat with hyaluronic acid.
③ Skin quality improvement.
- Promotes collagen production for a plump texture.

Duration
The effects of baby collagen are said to last about 3 to 6 months. Although the duration is shorter than hyaluronic acid, its natural texture and high safety are appealing.

Downtime
- Swelling and redness: A few hours to about 2 days.
- Internal bleeding : Rarely lasts about a week.
- Makeup can be applied from the same day to the next day (according to the doctor’s instructions). Downtime is relatively mild, and many people can go out the same day as the procedure.

Precautions
- The effects are not permanent, so regular treatments are necessary.
- There is also a non-zero possibility of allergies.
- As it is derived from the human placenta, you will be unable to donate blood.
- For significant indentations or deep wrinkles, it is often insufficient on its own (combination with other treatments is recommended).
